First Year Experience at RRCC

Join us September 7 from 2-3 in the Grays Peak - Rm 1571

What is First Year Experience?

The mission of the First Year Experience is to foster engagement and persistence for students new to the college experience in order to help them complete their academic goals.

Am I a first year student?

If you have not completed a full academic cycle (a full fall, spring and summer semester) you are still a first year student.

How can I get involved?

  • Register for a class that has been designated as a FYE intensive course.
    • These courses provide students who are new to the college environment with information that will help them be successful in their career as a student. This includes in depth information on campus resources, self-awareness, communication, study skills and more. Speak to an academic advisor to determine which FYE designated course may fit into your degree plan.
  • Stop by an FYE event:
    • First Year Serve
    • First Year Fitness Five (??)
    • Stress Relief Event
    • Attend an Orientation

Orientation at Red Rocks Community College

If you are a new student, an orientation can guide you to important resources, help you get comfortable with the campus community, and provide you with important tools to be successful in the enrollment and registration process. If you have not attended an in person orientation, please consider viewing our Online Orientation here.
